Earth Block: Group Calidra Office and Laboratory Facility

Earth Block: Group Calidra Office and Laboratory Facility, Torreon Coah, Mexico: Mechanical engineer for 17,000 square foot office building using completely passive cooling system in the harsh interior desert of Mexico. This project uses ‘cool towers’ and operable exhaust windows to passively cool the spaces and provide individual thermal control. The wall system is made entirely of locally harvested clay stabilized with lime from the adjoining quarry and compressed in Earth Blocks.
